Formal Review of Batalha HotelAs a London-based former food critic with a penchant for winemaking, I am always eager to discover family-friendly accommodations, and my recent stay at Batalha was a gratifying experience. Upon arrival, the staff demonstrated a warm and welcoming approach, ensuring we knew how to navigate the premises, including the access code to our apartment. The spacious 2-bedroom, 2-bathroom unit was well thought out, allowing ample room for our party of six. The well-equipped kitchen served us well during our stay, especially when we preferred a night in due to the weather. A standout element was the hotel's exceptional service. We were celebrating a friend's milestone birthday and, upon my request, received a beautifully presented cake accompanied by a bottle of Ferreira Port-a gesture that resonated with my familial values of celebration and togetherness. Located near the iconic bridge and surrounded by diverse dining options, Batalha offers an ideal base for families looking to explore. Although the property is overcome by stairs, the ambiance and friendly service make up for it. This hotel is indeed a welcoming haven for families.
